(Based on < 60% ownership)

Week 8 of the fantasy football season is upon us. With a few notable injuries in recent weeks, along with a number of byes, it’s important that you utilize the waiver wire it what is becoming a very critical time of the fantasy season:

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals, QB: He sits just outside the top ten fantasy quarterbacks, yet still has very low ownership. If you own Sam Bradford, Jay Cutler, or your quarterback is on a bye, you could do a whole lost worse than Dalton (who has AJ Green to throw to).

Mike James, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, RB (pictured): The muscle hamster has been struck down with injury, prompting Mike James immediately into the lead running back role. He will likely be the first name to go off waivers this week, so get in quick!

Roy Helu, Washington Redskins, RB: Hands up those disappointed Morris owners from week 7. Helu stole, not 1, not 2, but 3 touchdowns against the Bears. You can’t expect this type of production each week, but he certainly warrants fantasy consideration.

Peyton Hillis, New York Giants, RB: This guy was on the cover of Madden not long ago. What a massive fall. He’s now in New York following several injuries to the backfield. Could come in handy as a bye week replacement.

Harry Douglas, Atlanta Falcons, WR: How does 149 yards and a touchdown sound? I know, you’re telling me. With injuries to both Julio Jones and Roddy White, Matty Ice Ryan had to throw to someone, and that someone was Harry Douglas. Expect that trend to continue, particularly in the short-term.

Darrius Heyward-Bay, Indianapolis Colts, WR: So that wide open pass from Luck to Wayne didn’t end up costing them the game, but it could prove costly with Wayne out injured. Heyward-Bay however will benefit as a result and is well worth the look.

Jarrett Boykin, Green Bay Packers, WR: We told you didn’t we. Hope you listened. 103 yards and a touchdown, including 10 targets. Now Finley is out, so clearly Rodgers needs to throw to someone besides Jordy Nelson.

Jordan Reid, Washington Redskins, TE: Coming off a 54 yard performance n week 6, Jordan followed it up with a massive 134 yard and one touchdown game in week 7. Fred who? This is the TE to own from the Redskins.

That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on facebook or twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.

We have reached week 7 of the fantasy football season. Here we are with our latest waiver wire targets (based on < 60% ownership):

Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles, QB: Vick will likely remain out, and Foles has done a pretty good job and marshaling the troops in the order of almost 500 yards and five passing touchdowns over his past two games.

Zac Stacy, St Louis Rams, RB: Two 75+ yard running performances over the past two games. He is firmly on top of the depth chart and worth adding.

Brandon Jacobs, New York Giants, RB:Injuries are playing a role… that’s just fantasy. Jacobs wasn’t on many radars, but he will be now after a 106 yard, 2 touchdown outing in week 6.

Joseph Randle, Dallas Cowboys, RB:Stop! Murray is injured? Really? Don’t act surprised. Add Randle now, especially if you are a Murray owner.

Justin Blackmon, Jacksonville Jaguars, WR: How is this guy still available in so many leagues? 19 catches for over 325 yards in just two games… and consider who is throwing to him. Run, don’t walk.

Percy Harvin, Seattle Seahawks, WR: Who? Yes, remember this guy that the Seahawks acquired? He won’t be returning in week 7, but his return is getting closer. He could be a great addition to your fantasy team for the business end of the season.

Jarrett Boykin, Green Bay Packers, WR: With news that Randall Cobb is out 6-8 weeks with an injury, someone needs to fill the void. More passes will likely go to Rodgers other main targets such as Nelson, but we like Boykin as a sneaky add.

Keenan Allen, San Diego Chargers, WR:20 catches and over 300 yards and two touchdowns over the past three games. Talk about trending upwards, he should be owned in your fantasy league.

Charles Clay, Miami Dolphins, TE: Has caught at least three catches in every game thus far this season, including a touchdown in each of his past two games.

That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on facebook or twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.

Based on < 60% ownership:

Week six of the fantasy season is already upon us, and boy has it gone quickly. If you’re sitting at 5-0 or 4-1, then well done to you thus far. However, there is still much to do. If on the other hand you are 0-5 or 1-4, all is not lost just yet, but you had better get your act together with some trades and waiver wire pickups. The good news is that we have you covered in this story with the latter, and are always willing to lend a hand with the former, just hit us up on Facebook or twitter for assistance.

So on to week six, and only two teams have the bye being the Falcons and the Dolphins. Here are the picks of the bench to target off the waiver wire:

Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears, QB (pictured):675 yards over the past two games. Yep, I’ll have some of that. Takeaways remain an issue, but he’s thrown for a touchdown in every game this season, a trend that will likely continue against the Giants.

Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles, QB: Michael Vick hobbled off the field in week 5… literally. Enter Foles, who threw for almost 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Up next, the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Worth a look in deeper leagues.

Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders, QB: Two touchdowns, 221 yards in the air and 31 yards on the ground, in a week 5 victory against the rival Chargers. I’ll take that from a waiver wire pickup and bye week replacement. Good-bye Matt Flynn (what a disappointment he ended up being).

Willis McGahee, Cleveland Browns, RB: We told you he was slowly gaining form. 72 yards and a touchdown in week 5 against the Bills. He is also getting the bulk of the carries now for the Browns.

Zac Stacy, St Louis Rams, RB:Will get the start this week against the Texans. Any starting RB deserves fantasy consideration. We suggest picking him up. He had 78 yards on the weekend against the Jaguars.

Marcel Reece, Oakland Raiders, RB:Should injuries keep out McFadden and Jennings (could have seen both coming), Reece could be in-line for an increase in workload on a short-term basis. Keep an eye on.

Alshon Jeffrey, Chicago Bears, WR:What an explosion. 107 yards and a touchdown in week 4 then followed up with 218 yards and another touchdown last week. Add him… quickly. See Cutler, Jay above.

Terrance Williams, Dallas Cowboys, WR: Sure, it won’t be the Broncos secondary each week, nor banking on Romo to have the game he had in week 5, but his performance does merit a look, especially with Austin out.

Denarius Moore, Oakland Raiders, WR: Quietly going under the radar with over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in four games thus far. He’s clearly enjoying having Pryor throwing him the ball.

Justin Blackmon, Jacksonville Jaguars, WR: What suspension? Many a fantasy owner forgot about him last week (including myself), but his value just skyrocketed following a 136 yard and 1 touchdown performance in his first game back. Well worth a look.

Heath Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers, TE: Has always been a solid performer for Big Ben and the Steelers. Has racked up 105 yards through 2 games thus far this season. Look for big ben to keep this going and looking his way often against the Jets.

Charles Clay, Miami Dolphins, TE: Ok, I recognize that he is on the bye this week, but he still has very low ownership, especially as he is coming off a 94 yard and 2 touchdown combined performance over the past two weeks.

Indianapolis Colts, D/ST:Represent good value this week against the Chargers. 5 intercepts, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 touchdowns over the past three games.

That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on facebook or twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.

Based on < 60% ownership:

So the byes this week feature the Vikings, Steelers, Buccaneers and Redskins, which means there is a good chance that either you or your opponent will be a man down and looking for help off the waiver wire. Week 5 does not offer a whole lot, but there are some options available:

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens, QB: Ray Rice is injured. No problems, let’s just throw the ball… 50 times. Ok, sure it was the Bills (and they did lose the game), but the underlying trend is there. He also attempted 62 passes against the Broncos in week 1.

Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs, QB (pictured): Threw for the most passing yards and touchdowns of the season in week 4. Unfortunately, he also threw two intercepts. Alex has been a great find for Andy Reid and the undefeated Chiefs, and he could be for your team too.

Danny Woodhead, San Diego Chargers, RB: He’s taking over the Darren Sproles role (as many expected)… 86 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns against Dallas in week 4, and now Oakland on deck. Well worth a look, especially in deeper leagues.

Rashad Jennings, Oakland Raiders, RB: Stop the press, Darren McFadden is injured… don’t tell me you didn’t see it coming. Furthermore, Marcel Reece, the backup, is also injured. Jennings by default will become the feature back in the immediate term should these two not heal in time. He did disappoint when given the main gig at the Jaguars in the absence of MJD, so not overly optimistic, but could be of assistance if in need of a short-term plug and play.

Willis McGahee, Cleveland Browns, RB: He’s still working his way back into gameshape as he continues to learn the new system. Production increased in his second game back, and this trend should continue.

Roy Helu, Washington Redskins, RB (bye this week): Should the Morris injury keep him out the next game (unlikely), then Helu would be in line for an increase in his workload. If anything, make sure you handcuff him with Helu.

LeGarrette Blount, New England Patriots, RB: Remember when this guy was a fantasy stud at the Buccaneers before Doug Martin took over? Well that won’t be the case here, but he is quietly putting together some decent stats in limited carries…. In only 23 rushing attempts, he has almost 130 yards and a touchdown over the past two games.

Nate Washington, Tennessee Titans, WR: Nate has been on a tear the past two weeks, going off for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns in as many weeks. Ryan Fitzpatrick takes over at quarterback for the Titans, and this bodes well for Nate. Time to dump Britt by the way.

Marlon Brown, Baltimore Ravens, WR: Ok, he did suffer a thigh injury in week 4 that is of concern, but he gets through this week ok, he could come in handy. With Rice injured, Flacco is turning to the air, and there are only so many targets that Torrey Smith can receive.

Coby Fleener, Indianapolis Colts, TE: 77 yards and a touchdown in week 4… yep, I’ll take that. The Seahawks aren’t the Jaguars, so a much tougher game expected, but he could again come in handy as a bye week replacement.

Charles Clay, Miami Dolphins, TE: The sickening injury to Dustin Keller has paved the way for Clay to step up, and that he has. 250 yards, 20 catches and 1 touchdown through four games. Ravens up next.

Atlanta Falcons, DST: They are playing the Jets. Enough said.

That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on facebook or twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.

Based on < 60% ownership:

Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron, Julian Edelman, Terrelle Pryor, Chiefs D/ST? These are just some of the names we have mentioned in previous articles as players you should pickup off your waiver wire… we hope you took our advice.

Ok, so who should you target this week off the waivers? Don’t forget, the bye weeks are upon us, so get in early before everyone else does:

Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego Chargers: Slowed down against the Titans after his red-hot start. However, he did only attempt 24 passes, and completed on 20 of them, and spread that ball around very well. Up next Dallas in San Diego.

Alex Smith, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: Who reading this story picked the Chiefs to be 3-0? Not this writer, but well done to them. He wasn’t impressive on the weekend, but he could have value if in need of a bye week replacement.

Bilal Powell, RB, New York Jets (pictured): Ok, yes, I am mentioning a Jet here (sorry Jets fans). However, with Ivory nursing an injury, a hamstring injury at that, Powell is in-line for an increased workload. What does Powell think of this? Oh, only 149 yards in week three. Pick him up…. Now!

Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling, RB, Atlanta Falcons: SJax is down, and is expected to be out for a few games. Rodgers is still the starter and should be picked up immediately if he is available. If you are in a deeper league and in need of help at RB, Snelling could also be of assistance, particularly with his value as a receiver. He caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown against Miami.

Jonathan Franklin, RB, Green Bay Packers: What is happening to the Green Bay running backs? Yet another injury, this time to Starks. Enter the rookie Franklin, who rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown on the weekend.

Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Could he come back any sooner? The Steelers are 0-3 and in need of help. The much hyped rookie is only owned in 40% of leagues, but that will soon change.

Kenbrell Thompkins, WR, New England Patriots: What’s that? Tom Brady is his quarterback? Yep, this was always going to be on the cards. Gronk is back soon, meaning you can expect the likes of two touchdowns each week, but he still might come in handy for your fantasy teams.

Nate Burleson, WR, Detroit Lions: Nate is very hit and miss, I’ll be the first to admit that. However, you have to respect the hot hands and the chemistry with Stafford. He has additional value with Bush being out.

Martellus Bennett, TE, Chicago Bears: Didn’t have a great game on the weekend against the Steelers, but we are backing him to right the ship this weekend. He has three touchdowns in as many games.

Charles Clay, TE, Miami Dolphins: Over 200 yards in just three games. Yep, i’ll take that on my fantasy team. Tannehill continues to look his way often, we would just like to see the touchdowns.

Chiefs DST: Takeaway after takeaway. Time to take these guys seriously and add them, especially with the Giants, Titans and Raiders on deck.

That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on Facebook or Twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.

Not sure which players to target off the waiver wire for Week 3 (based on less than 60% ownership)? Look no further, we have you covered:

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers: I do find it tough to add Rivers here given the many years of optimism and disappointment in previous seasons. However, you have to respect the statistics, and right now, they are well and truly in Philip’s favor. 614 yards, seven touchdowns and only one intercept through two games.

Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears: Da Bears are 2-0, and Jay is doing his part. Sure, the intercepts and fumbles are a worry, but he is passing the ball around and has thrown for multiple touchdowns. You could do worse at quarterback.

James Starks (pictured), Green Bay Packers: Who saw this one coming? 8 yards receiving in week one, 132 yards rushing and 36 yards receiving in week two, include a touchdown. Ok, Lacy was injured in the first quarter, but he’s certainly worth a look, especially if Lacy were to miss time. He’ll more than likely be available in most leagues!!!

Knowshon Moreno, Denver Broncos: Someone had to emerge out of the Broncos backfield as the clear leader. Week one didn’t prove much, but week two definitely did. 93 yards, two touchdowns on only 13 carries. It helps when you need to respect the pass with Peyton at the helm.

Bernard Pierce, Baltimore Ravens: Probably one of the most coveted handcuffs in fantasy, Ray Rice was injured late in week two, and in steps Pierce, contributing 57 yards and a touchdown. A must own right now.

Joique Bell, Detroit Lions: Reggie Bush is injured… have you heard that before? Well done to those owners that saw this coming and grabbed Bell early. If Bush is out for an extended period of time, Bell would be a fantastic addition. Already has over 160 all-purpose yards and a touchdown through two games.

Eddie Royal, San Diego Chargers: I thought week one was an anomaly, but clearly it wasn’t. Three touchdowns on 7 passes against the Eagles, makes it 5 touchdowns on the season. Malcolm Floyd also could be sidelined for an extended period of time with a neck injury. See Rivers, Philip.

DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans: Coming up big early on for those owners that took a chance. Thus far, 183 yards and a touchdown in two games. Oh, and Andre Johnson was left with a concussion against the Titans, meaning he could be in-line for extra workload.

Marlon Brown, Baltimore Ravens: An injury to Jacoby Jones paved the way for Brown to enter the starting line-up. He hasn’t disappointed, with 2 touchdowns in as many games. Could be even more valuable if Ray Rice is out for an extended period of time meaning the Ravens will look to go to the air more often.

Martellus Bennett, Chicago Bears: Excellent game winning touchdown against the Vikings. Three touchdowns and 125 yards on the season thus far. If you have a top tier tight end, you could add Bennett, and opt for a trade to improve your team elsewhere. See Cutler, Jay.

Coby Fleener, Indianapolis Colts: Should have actually caught two touchdowns on the weekend. Luck is starting to build chemistry with him.

That’s it for this week. As always, we welcome any feedback or questions you may have about your fantasy team!

Disappointed with some of your players’ performances on the weekend, or perhaps you are looking to take advantage of some stellar play? Here is a list of players you should be looking to either BUY or SELL after week one:

BUY:

Eli Manning, New York Giants: Its easy to forget the other Manning given the numbers Peyton put up, and the Giants loss to the Cowboys. However Eli himself threw for 450 yards on 42 passes. Intercepts a concern. Up next, the Broncos, brother v brother.

Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers: A rough start to the season against the Seahawks, but hell bounce back quickly… up next, the Buffalo Bills.

Mike Wallace, Miami Dolphins: Only the 1 catch? Ouch! Look to capitalize on an unhappy owner. He need to time build chemistry with Tannehill.

Eric Decker, Denver Broncos: It was just one week. Peyton has so many weapons, but his preferences will change each week based on the matchup. Be patient.

Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions: Yes, crazy that he is here, but you just never know after a four-reception effort on the weekend.

Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs: Saw very little targets, hence catches. Look for Alex Smith to get him more involved.

Jared Cook, St Louis Rams: Should have had a two TD performance. Clearly a far better environment for him this year. 10 targets for 141 yards… wow!

Greg Olsen, Carolina Panthers: See Newton, Cam, above. Coming off a tough matchup, Olsen is relied upon by his QB.

LeBron James, Dallas Cowboys??? (pictured): Ok, now we are just joking with you, but nice to speculate him taking his talents to The Cowboys.

SELL:

Anquan Boldin, San Francisco 49ers: We actually had him quite high in a our pre-season ranks, so while him doing well is no surprise, him doing really well was. He’s unlikely to reach over 200 yards again this season.

Brian Hartline, Miami Dolphins: Yes, we have him as a waiver wire pickup, but if you can pick him up, look to flick him on. He’ll be inconsistent all season.

Danny Amendola, New England Patriots: He is coming off a great game (as expected), but he also got injured (as expected). Trade him while you can before he breaks down and Gronk returns.

Based on < 60% ownership:

Matt Schaub, Houston Texans: Pulled the game back for the Texans. He has a number of options in the passing game, namely Johnson, Hopkins, Daniels and Foster. He attempted 45 passes against the Chargers. A useful back up.

Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders: Tough to recommend a Raider, however if you need QB assistance, Pryor could help. Why? Because he runs the ball as well as throws. In fact, he ran for over 100 yards against the Colts. Think how useful Tim Tebow was a couple of seasons ago without a successful arm.

Bilal Powell, New York Jets: Ok, he’s in a committee, but at least he is considered the lead back (got to feel bad for those Ivory owners at this point of time). He’ll be inconsistent, but worth a flex start based on matchups… and the Patriots just got shredded on the ground.

Da’Rel Scott, New York Giants: David Wilson couldn’t hold on to the ball against the Cowboys, and Da’Rel was given an opportunity to step up (no Andre Brown). Wilson should still remain the lead back, but worth keeping an eye on.

DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans: See Schaub, Matt above. Concussion limited his pre-season play, but the rookie did well in his first game, recording 66 yards on five passes.

Brian Hartline, Miami Dolphins: Mike Wallace??? No, Mr Hartline was the go to receiver for Tannehill. He has targeted 15 times, catching 9 passes for 114 yards and a TD. Don’t expect this every week, but worth a look.

Julian Edelman, New England Patriots: Who saw that coming? Expect to see passes his way as Gronk remains out and injuries to other receivers and their backfield. Brady’s favorites will change week to week.

Julius Thomas, Denver Broncos (pictured): No brainer here… and we hope you took our advice last week. He is a must own if in need of a TE.

Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns: Another we have previously suggested. 9 catches on 13 targets and a TD. Need I say any more?

Others to consider: Andy Dalton, Carson Palmer, Christine Michael, Ronnie Hillman, Kenbrell Hopkins, Marlon Brown, Kellen Winslow, Cowboys D/ST, Chiefs D/ST, Dan Bailey, Greg Zuerlein.

Based on < 50% ownership

Quarterback:

* Josh Freeman: Had his inconsistencies last season, which does remain a worry. However he has plenty of weapons and we see him putting them to get use, especially against mediocre teams such as the Jets.

* Ryan Tannerhill: Went under the radar as a rookie last season as the likes of Wilson, Luck and RG3 stole the thunder. He won’t be breaking many fantasy records, but he makes for a nice backup and potential bye week replacement.

Running Back:

* Christine Michael: His ownership is growing rapidly, so get in board quickly. Will be huge should Lynch go down.

* Bilal Powell: Tough to recommend any Jets in fantasy (unless the opposition is playing them), but Powell has been named on top of depth chart, and that alone means you need to take notice given the rare commodity that is a running back this season.

Wide Receiver:

* Darrius Heyward-Bey: A change of scenery and plenty of upside. With Luck at the helm, he is certainly worth a look.

* Jacoby Jones: Player movements and injuries have paved the way for Jacoby to step up. Flacco will look his way and be the replacement for Boldin.

Tight End:

* Jordan Cameron: Norv Turner loves his TE’s (Gates), and we see Weedon improving.

* Zach Zudfield: No Gronk, no problems. Great opportunity, and will useful in the short-term in particular.

* Julius Thomas: Starting TE for the Broncos. Hello Peyton Manning!

Kicker:

* Dan Bailey: The Boys shouldn’t have any problems moving the ball. Bailey should see plenty of looks.

* Steven Hauschka: Wilson and Lynch will lead the way, but no Harvin, which limits the Seahawks fire power, with potential stalls in the redzone. Enter Mr. Hauschka.

D/ST:

* Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Up against the J-E-T-S in week one. Enough said!

* Cleveland Browns: A lot of potential here… Reasonably attractive first matchup against the Dolphins at home.
