Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire Recommendations – 2013/14
Based on < 60% ownership:
Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron, Julian Edelman, Terrelle Pryor, Chiefs D/ST? These are just some of the names we have mentioned in previous articles as players you should pickup off your waiver wire… we hope you took our advice.
Ok, so who should you target this week off the waivers? Don’t forget, the bye weeks are upon us, so get in early before everyone else does:
Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego Chargers: Slowed down against the Titans after his red-hot start. However, he did only attempt 24 passes, and completed on 20 of them, and spread that ball around very well. Up next Dallas in San Diego.
Alex Smith, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: Who reading this story picked the Chiefs to be 3-0? Not this writer, but well done to them. He wasn’t impressive on the weekend, but he could have value if in need of a bye week replacement.
Bilal Powell, RB, New York Jets (pictured): Ok, yes, I am mentioning a Jet here (sorry Jets fans). However, with Ivory nursing an injury, a hamstring injury at that, Powell is in-line for an increased workload. What does Powell think of this? Oh, only 149 yards in week three. Pick him up…. Now!
Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling, RB, Atlanta Falcons: SJax is down, and is expected to be out for a few games. Rodgers is still the starter and should be picked up immediately if he is available. If you are in a deeper league and in need of help at RB, Snelling could also be of assistance, particularly with his value as a receiver. He caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown against Miami.
Jonathan Franklin, RB, Green Bay Packers: What is happening to the Green Bay running backs? Yet another injury, this time to Starks. Enter the rookie Franklin, who rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown on the weekend.
Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Could he come back any sooner? The Steelers are 0-3 and in need of help. The much hyped rookie is only owned in 40% of leagues, but that will soon change.
Kenbrell Thompkins, WR, New England Patriots: What’s that? Tom Brady is his quarterback? Yep, this was always going to be on the cards. Gronk is back soon, meaning you can expect the likes of two touchdowns each week, but he still might come in handy for your fantasy teams.
Nate Burleson, WR, Detroit Lions: Nate is very hit and miss, I’ll be the first to admit that. However, you have to respect the hot hands and the chemistry with Stafford. He has additional value with Bush being out.
Martellus Bennett, TE, Chicago Bears: Didn’t have a great game on the weekend against the Steelers, but we are backing him to right the ship this weekend. He has three touchdowns in as many games.
Charles Clay, TE, Miami Dolphins: Over 200 yards in just three games. Yep, i’ll take that on my fantasy team. Tannehill continues to look his way often, we would just like to see the touchdowns.
Chiefs DST: Takeaway after takeaway. Time to take these guys seriously and add them, especially with the Giants, Titans and Raiders on deck.
That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on Facebook or Twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.
