Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire Recommendations – 2013/14
(Based on < 60% ownership)
Week 8 of the fantasy football season is upon us. With a few notable injuries in recent weeks, along with a number of byes, it’s important that you utilize the waiver wire it what is becoming a very critical time of the fantasy season:
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals, QB: He sits just outside the top ten fantasy quarterbacks, yet still has very low ownership. If you own Sam Bradford, Jay Cutler, or your quarterback is on a bye, you could do a whole lost worse than Dalton (who has AJ Green to throw to).
Mike James, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, RB (pictured): The muscle hamster has been struck down with injury, prompting Mike James immediately into the lead running back role. He will likely be the first name to go off waivers this week, so get in quick!
Roy Helu, Washington Redskins, RB: Hands up those disappointed Morris owners from week 7. Helu stole, not 1, not 2, but 3 touchdowns against the Bears. You can’t expect this type of production each week, but he certainly warrants fantasy consideration.
Peyton Hillis, New York Giants, RB: This guy was on the cover of Madden not long ago. What a massive fall. He’s now in New York following several injuries to the backfield. Could come in handy as a bye week replacement.
Harry Douglas, Atlanta Falcons, WR: How does 149 yards and a touchdown sound? I know, you’re telling me. With injuries to both Julio Jones and Roddy White, Matty Ice Ryan had to throw to someone, and that someone was Harry Douglas. Expect that trend to continue, particularly in the short-term.
Darrius Heyward-Bay, Indianapolis Colts, WR: So that wide open pass from Luck to Wayne didn’t end up costing them the game, but it could prove costly with Wayne out injured. Heyward-Bay however will benefit as a result and is well worth the look.
Jarrett Boykin, Green Bay Packers, WR: We told you didn’t we. Hope you listened. 103 yards and a touchdown, including 10 targets. Now Finley is out, so clearly Rodgers needs to throw to someone besides Jordy Nelson.
Jordan Reid, Washington Redskins, TE: Coming off a 54 yard performance n week 6, Jordan followed it up with a massive 134 yard and one touchdown game in week 7. Fred who? This is the TE to own from the Redskins.
That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on facebook or twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.
