Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire Recommendations – 2013/14
Based on < 60% ownership:
Week six of the fantasy season is already upon us, and boy has it gone quickly. If you’re sitting at 5-0 or 4-1, then well done to you thus far. However, there is still much to do. If on the other hand you are 0-5 or 1-4, all is not lost just yet, but you had better get your act together with some trades and waiver wire pickups. The good news is that we have you covered in this story with the latter, and are always willing to lend a hand with the former, just hit us up on Facebook or twitter for assistance.
So on to week six, and only two teams have the bye being the Falcons and the Dolphins. Here are the picks of the bench to target off the waiver wire:
Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears, QB (pictured):675 yards over the past two games. Yep, I’ll have some of that. Takeaways remain an issue, but he’s thrown for a touchdown in every game this season, a trend that will likely continue against the Giants.
Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles, QB: Michael Vick hobbled off the field in week 5… literally. Enter Foles, who threw for almost 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Up next, the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Worth a look in deeper leagues.
Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders, QB: Two touchdowns, 221 yards in the air and 31 yards on the ground, in a week 5 victory against the rival Chargers. I’ll take that from a waiver wire pickup and bye week replacement. Good-bye Matt Flynn (what a disappointment he ended up being).
Willis McGahee, Cleveland Browns, RB: We told you he was slowly gaining form. 72 yards and a touchdown in week 5 against the Bills. He is also getting the bulk of the carries now for the Browns.
Zac Stacy, St Louis Rams, RB:Will get the start this week against the Texans. Any starting RB deserves fantasy consideration. We suggest picking him up. He had 78 yards on the weekend against the Jaguars.
Marcel Reece, Oakland Raiders, RB:Should injuries keep out McFadden and Jennings (could have seen both coming), Reece could be in-line for an increase in workload on a short-term basis. Keep an eye on.
Alshon Jeffrey, Chicago Bears, WR:What an explosion. 107 yards and a touchdown in week 4 then followed up with 218 yards and another touchdown last week. Add him… quickly. See Cutler, Jay above.
Terrance Williams, Dallas Cowboys, WR: Sure, it won’t be the Broncos secondary each week, nor banking on Romo to have the game he had in week 5, but his performance does merit a look, especially with Austin out.
Denarius Moore, Oakland Raiders, WR: Quietly going under the radar with over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in four games thus far. He’s clearly enjoying having Pryor throwing him the ball.
Justin Blackmon, Jacksonville Jaguars, WR: What suspension? Many a fantasy owner forgot about him last week (including myself), but his value just skyrocketed following a 136 yard and 1 touchdown performance in his first game back. Well worth a look.
Heath Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers, TE: Has always been a solid performer for Big Ben and the Steelers. Has racked up 105 yards through 2 games thus far this season. Look for big ben to keep this going and looking his way often against the Jets.
Charles Clay, Miami Dolphins, TE: Ok, I recognize that he is on the bye this week, but he still has very low ownership, especially as he is coming off a 94 yard and 2 touchdown combined performance over the past two weeks.
Indianapolis Colts, D/ST:Represent good value this week against the Chargers. 5 intercepts, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 touchdowns over the past three games.
That’s it again for this week. Feel free to contact us on facebook or twitter should you have any burning fantasy questions.
