Fantasy Football Week 2 Waiver Wire Recommendations – 2013/14
Based on < 60% ownership:
Matt Schaub, Houston Texans: Pulled the game back for the Texans. He has a number of options in the passing game, namely Johnson, Hopkins, Daniels and Foster. He attempted 45 passes against the Chargers. A useful back up.
Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders: Tough to recommend a Raider, however if you need QB assistance, Pryor could help. Why? Because he runs the ball as well as throws. In fact, he ran for over 100 yards against the Colts. Think how useful Tim Tebow was a couple of seasons ago without a successful arm.
Bilal Powell, New York Jets: Ok, he’s in a committee, but at least he is considered the lead back (got to feel bad for those Ivory owners at this point of time). He’ll be inconsistent, but worth a flex start based on matchups… and the Patriots just got shredded on the ground.
Da’Rel Scott, New York Giants: David Wilson couldn’t hold on to the ball against the Cowboys, and Da’Rel was given an opportunity to step up (no Andre Brown). Wilson should still remain the lead back, but worth keeping an eye on.
DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans: See Schaub, Matt above. Concussion limited his pre-season play, but the rookie did well in his first game, recording 66 yards on five passes.
Brian Hartline, Miami Dolphins: Mike Wallace??? No, Mr Hartline was the go to receiver for Tannehill. He has targeted 15 times, catching 9 passes for 114 yards and a TD. Don’t expect this every week, but worth a look.
Julian Edelman, New England Patriots: Who saw that coming? Expect to see passes his way as Gronk remains out and injuries to other receivers and their backfield. Brady’s favorites will change week to week.
Julius Thomas, Denver Broncos (pictured): No brainer here… and we hope you took our advice last week. He is a must own if in need of a TE.
Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns: Another we have previously suggested. 9 catches on 13 targets and a TD. Need I say any more?
Others to consider: Andy Dalton, Carson Palmer, Christine Michael, Ronnie Hillman, Kenbrell Hopkins, Marlon Brown, Kellen Winslow, Cowboys D/ST, Chiefs D/ST, Dan Bailey, Greg Zuerlein.
