Lakers reveal “Hollywood Nights” jerseys… sort of
The Los Angeles Lakers have teased fans and foe by releasing a teaser video of their black alernate “Hollywood Nights” jerseys to be worn ay select games this upcoming season.
Doused in cool black the purple Lakers writing and numbers pop with the gold trimming, the Lakers new get up looks very slick. the Lakers will join ‘Rip City’ (Portland Blazers) and ‘Motor City’ (Detroit Pistons) as part of the League’s ‘City Pride’ campaign. ESPNLA reported that the ‘Hollywood nights’ strip is one of a series of new uniforms the Lakers will wear at times through this season. Earlier in the week it was reported that the Lakers will wear sleeves multiple times this season.
Steve Nash thinks that the players should have the option to wear the uniform in any style they want as long as it looked “pretty”. I must say that I like the look of the slick black ‘Hollywood Nights’ uniform.
With the Lakers losing superstar, Dwight Howard through free agency recently and with Kobe Bryant in the twilight of his career this is a perfect time for the Lakers to get a few new looks from a merchandise perspective. Any team LeBron James is on cashes in by wearing what seems like 15 different jerseys a year. Why shouldn’t any other team do the same?
